this is Brett Slansky and I had to develop this blog, because Microsoft become very greedy.
I have been Xbox 360 player since its introduction and I love the Microsoft ways of building great computer technologies.
Lately, I have been getting xbox 360 3 red lights on, which annoyed the heck out of me! I have turn the machine on and off, yet I could not finish to play my favorite game…what a bummer!
Called Microsoft support and get a really nice answer about how to fix the xbox 360 3 red light that are on on my machine.
They suggested to send the xbox 360 to them to take a look at it and quoted a price of more then $100 bucks. They must be insane!
I am wondering how many times, the xbox 360 3 red light problem comes up to average xbox players.
Is it that Microsoft wants and extra paycheck in this “tough economy”?

I was playing fable 2 and there are 3 wishes at the end for evreyone you choose you get an aviement so i pick one got the thing and turn off my xbox i turned it back on a there are 3 red lights the top right on is not flashing but the others are and my power indicator is green help me plz

I had three lights come on my xbox 360. Its 1st player 3rd player and 4th player. Like i just started playing then the game froze and turned it off and started again and froze again while i was playing. Then the third time i turned it on nothing on the screen then the lights came on. I went xbox website and it was saying check all the connections which i did. The power source was all good. Before I check again with xbox about fixing it i wanted to know if there is anything I need to check. I have had the 3 rings of death before but I had my xbox repaired by xbox before so I know thats not it. Any suggestions thanks.
it is the red ring of death. refurbished xboxes can still get RRoD, you must contact msft and have it replaced again.

at the moment i am getting two flashing lights 5 minutes into any game I try to play. Apparently this is due to overheating but i have left it for more than 24 hours to cool down but still it crashes straight away. So i call xbox support for them to fix it: and for some reason they will only fix it for free if it has the three flashing lights and the e74 message, if theres anything else wrong with it i have to pay about £80 to fix it. So thats why i want to make it get three red lights so that i want have to pay a dime to get it fixed. All suggestions welcome, it will save me a ton if i can do it. I’ve heard stuff about wrapping it in towels but i just want to ask as many people as i can. All suggestions welcome. Thanks
First of all, you are getting things seriously mixed up. The E74 code has 1 red light. This is totally separate from the 3 red lights.
As to why they will only fix it for those problems: The standard warranty on the 360 is for 1 year. Due to a large number of problems they extended the warranty to 3 years ONLY for the 3 red lights and E74 codes. This tells me that your xbox is between 1 and 3 years old.
The towel trick the other posted talked about originally hit the web as a way to temporarily fix the 3 red lights, not cause them. If you do it on an xbox that does not yet have the 3 red lights, I have no idea if it would cause them to happen or not.

i just called xbox for my 360 and they said since it turned red i would get a new for free cuz of warranty but wut r the chances of me getting a black one
The Xbox 360 Elite (the black one) is a totally different system. I mean it’s the same but it has more accesories than the others. There isn’t a chance you’ll get the Elite unless that is the system you sent back.

I have an x box 360. its out of warrenty…. Just!!!
and the 3 red lights thing have come on. a mate told me that u an send them off to MS and they fix them even out of warrenty… as it is such a big probem with them.
Anybody out there got the number to call or any info on this matter at all

Red ring of death is 3 lights, and Microsoft has an extended 3 year warranty specifically for the red ring of death call 1800-4my-xbox. THey send you a box you send them your 360…Keep your hard drive and cords and controllers. And they send you a refurbished 360.
